While the Prudential name is something which is renowned throughout the financial world, with a history which goes back to 1848, it may not be common knowledge but the household insurance and car insurance operations were disposed of back in 2002. Under the arrangement Churchill Insurance were granted a licence to continue operation the business under the Prudential Ins name. While the Prudential household and car Insurance operations were large in size, it became apparent just prior to the sale that they were no long a core element of the business going forward. However, the sale of the operations turned into a fairly long drawn out affair with particular care taken to ensure that the name was maintained and the client base was passed into reliable hands.
While the Prudential Insurance operation has been streamlined and integrated fully into the Churchill Insurance business group, it still remains a vital part of the business.
